When did you decide that a career in music was for you?

I guess I was 12 when I realized I was really into music especially classical - Spanish music. I listened to many great guitarists who made me believe that music is a universal language. That is when I realized I want to be a part of the music world. I decided to study music academically and build a unique career that suits my passion for music.

Who are your musical inspirations and why?

Inspiration comes in various ways. I get inspired whenever I find unique styles of music pieces especially pieces of The great guitarists Andres Segovia and Narciso Yepes. They give the music a different meaning that touches my heart and inspires me deeply.

Can you tell me 3 things about yourself that people might not already know?

I think I am an open book lol.  But you maybe don't know these things about me.. I am so persistent, whenever I put my mind to something I never give up until I do it perfectly. Secondly, I am nearly a perfectionist, I like things to be 100% accurate and perfect. I know that we are humans and make mistakes but we have to do our best to reduce mistakes to the minimum. Lastly, whenever I feel down I escape to my guitar and plays my favorite music. This makes me feel better instantly and I feel so light and happy among my music pieces.

What song of yours best describes you and why?

My favorite sound track is "Romance of love" . I believe it describes me best as whatever the situation is, bad or good, it also succeed in describing my feelings. It brings me  huge joy and hope whenever I perform it. Nothing can touch my heart deeper than this masterpiece.

What has been the best gig you have done to date and why?

Throughout my career I made a lot of memorable gigs. I have performed many classical gigs as well as guitar duos with violin, flute, cello, soprano, percussion, oud and piano.  But there is one that has a special place in my heart, it is when I performed “ Concierto de Aranjuez" with Cairo Symphony Orchestra in 1988. It was a really unique experience and will always bring happiness to my heart. The whole experience was perfect , the instruments, the harmony and the audience reaction all worked together to create a perfect memorable scene.

If you could perform a gig at any venue where would it be and why?

New York City: Metropolitan Opera House is one of the most famous and best concert halls in My personal opinion. It us one of the most technologically advanced stages in the world. I believe technology have a great role in the music field. The Metropolitan Opera House presents modern masterpieces alongside the classics of theater.

What has been your best achievement to date and what would you like to achieve in the future?

Honestly, I am proud of every step I took though my career path. Every step was an achievement for me even the small ones. Including every award, every title and every concert, is considered an achievement to me.
I am really looking forward to introducing my next project to my dear fans. I am always working on something new as guitar arrangements and music videos. And I would really like these projects. What I want to achieve is for my music to reach my audience heart worldwide. Though I have already achieved much progress in it.

Tell me a story from backstage or after a gig?

6 years ago, 10 minutes before I show up on stage a young lady came to my room .. Please Maestro, could you play guitar specially for me ?Of course I can't refuse a lady's request .. Sweet Memories.

What do you like best about being a musician and why?

Magic is a universal language,  it has no limits, no barriers. What I like most about being a musician is that I can reach everyone of my fans despite their language. I believe that music is the best way to express my message to the people all over the world and establish a deep connection with them.

If you were not in the job you are now what would you be doing?

To be honest, I didn't think of any other Career. I have always known I would be a musician. But if I had to Choose another path, I guess it will also be an art field. I have always believed that art – in all of its form – play a huge role in building people’s personalities. I always felt – from a young age – that I have a role to play in changing the world and I believe art is the way to do so.

What has been the best gig you have been too as a fan and can you tell us about it?

I have been to some concerts with my God father in music Maestro “Maurizio Caruso”. I want to say I am really grateful for having such a role model in my life. He is the one who helped me be who I am today and I am really thankful. He always attended concerts with me and motivated me to be like those great guitarists. I remember once we attended a gig where two wonderful masterpieces were played so beautifully they carved their way to my memory till now. That day was memorable in every way as in the end of the day, he told me he believed in me and that one day I would be that great and people will line up for me. I was really touched by his words and here I am.

What would your ideal festival line up be and why?

I like to research every festival theme and then decide my line up. For example may choose the pieces of one of the great music writers and perform it in a specific sequence. I also may choose a specific genre or technique so that all the pieces will be in harmony.

What would you say is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?

I may be able to sum up the advice in one phrase “Learning never ends and it needs effort". I believe we all have something new to learn every single day. Knowledge is power and we never stop gaining knowledge. Moreover, we need to invest our time and effort in learning or building our knowledge. As in the end we are who we build, based on our knowledge, culture learning and experience.

What things make you happy and what things annoy you?

I guess things that makes me happy are pretty simple. Appreciation and love from my fans is what makes genuinely happy. I feel over the clouds whenever someone comes to me after a show and gives me a positive feedback or simply say they enjoyed the performance.
Well I am a guy that adore Tranquility. I love to be in a quiet peaceful environment. So I got annoyed whenever there is noise around me I feel that someone took me from my own world. But I adapt pretty fast and focus on my work.

What things do you like to do when you are away from music?

Whenever I have free time, I like to talk a walk through quiet peaceful places full of greens. I feel inspired by nature – the origin of everything – The scenery of the trees and flowers and the background sound of birds help me relax and connect with myself.

Do you think social media and the internet are a good thing in the music industry?

Of course internet and social media affected every field in our life especially the music industry. We now create and publish music more freely . Also internet helped us develop marketing strategies and reach audience worldwide. I feel social media platforms deepens the musician's relationship with his fans. But on the other side, there are people who struggle with technology so it isn’t that easy for them.

How important do you think you look and image is when it comes to being in the music industry?

I believe image is as important as the music track. Every musician is considered a role model for his/her society, so he/she should take care of his image, style and every single detail of his appearance.

Can you tell us about any tattoos you have and the significance of them to you?

I don’t have any tattoos.

If you run the country for a day what would you change about it and why?

I haven’t really thought about that so much, but I guess if I could change one thing, It would be including art and culture in education from an early stage. I believe that arts and music is a great weapon against terrorism. We can change the mindset of our young generation with music, we can create wise aware generation who knows the right from wrong and how to fight terrorism.

What would your ideal day consist of?

My day is a very simple routine. I wake up early in the morning, read the World News not only in the music field but all kind of news. Then I practice my guitar and work on my arrangements. In the middle of the day I go for a walk if I have time. I may also read a bit or search for new technology on the internet to always be up-to-date. Of course not all days are similar, I usually break the routine and do Something new or visit new places in the weekends.
What has been your experience during the Covid 19 situations.

Can you tell us how this has affected you personally, how it has affected you professionally and maybe a story from this time or a message for people out there?

We all had tough time during the lockdown of Covid-19. We were physically away from Whom we love, friends and family. But luckily we had different ways of communication including social media and video calls.  I invested the time in making new arrangements and practicing new techniques. I read a lot of books. Moreover, I participated in many online festivals and activities.
I would like to tell people out there to he as careful as they could because this pandemic is a battle that we must fight together. So stay safe, keep your distance and wear your masks.

If you could say one thing to your fans what would it be and why?

I would like to send my love to all the fans out there. Thank you for always supporting and motivating me. I just want to give a huge applause for all who followed my work till now. You stood by me in my darkest time and helped me get through a lot with your appreciation and love. You were also happy for me whenever I achieve something and that makes me even happier.

How would you answer the question Who are you and what are the differences between you as a music artist and you away from music ?

I believe Music have affected my life greatly. There is no much difference between them. As I like to say music helped me to get through different phases of my life. It helped me build a different personality. It made me believe that every small effort matters. In conclusion music is running through my Veins and is a huge part of me.

What was the first record or song you purchased and why?

If I remember right,  it was "Abrazame” by Julio Iglesias. It is a pop song released in 1975. I liked everything about it, the music , the technique, the lyrics and the harmony. It was perfect in every aspect. I was so happy with it and played it on repeat multiple times.

What would say to someone thinking about becoming a musician and getting into the music industry?

My message would be “be patient". Either you take music as a hobby or a career, You need to invest money, effort, time and energy in order to achieve what You Want. You have to give all of you to it. No matter how hard it is, how impossible it seems, just believe in yourself and believe you our going to reach your goal no matter the obstacles.

If you could collaborate with any other band/singer or musician who would you choose and why?

If I could have a duet, I think it would have been with Narciso Yepes.  I would have loved to play " Recuerdos de la Alhambra. It is one of the masterpieces I always love to play. It would have been amazing to stand and perform with someone who always inspired me .

If you could have written one song from history which would it have been and why?

Malagueña by Ernesto Lecuona is one of the masterpieces I personally love. i have made can arrangement for the guitar to Play it.  I am very proud of this arrangement and I really like the feedback end reaction of my fans to it.

What things make you uncomfortable?

I think it is the music nowadays. It is So uncomfortable to hear music with no techniques. Music needs to be revived by academics,  people who really Studied harmony and music. I feel uncomfortable Whenever I hear a sound track with a not out of harmony.

If you wrote a book about yourself what would it have in it?

That is a difficult question… I guess it will be a biography about how I started my career, How did I found someone to teach we academically, the obstacles that I overcame and how did I do it . It may include, the achievements I reached step by step. In the end of the book, I will write a message for my fans and a thank you note to anyone Who helped me become who I can today.

What has the rest of the year got in store for you?

No one knows what is stored in the future, but I promised myself to work more and make creative arrangements for pieces that I look forward to introducing to my fans. I also think that by the end of the Year I will have participated in many other online activity. Also I hope the pandemic will be over and we will be able to return to our normal interactive life.
