How you feeling after such a huge last week?

 

. Crazy thing was the  schedule before mania,well from from two days before We had unbreakable then 12 hour media day, Wrestlecon, WWE world . Sunday 12 hr media day Wrestlecon WWE world at 3  and then wrestled at 5. I think cause it was so crazy I didnt get chance to overthink it. I got a great nights sleep last night so two out of seven this week aint bad.

Do you feel confident in pivoting if you didnt think you were getting over with the fans which obviously you are Also do you think after this weekend you have gained a new confidence?

 

Im not pivoting I dont have to pivot the only pivoting I need to do is the spin in my entrance. Doing good business for TNA , thats all that matters.

Triple H told you there would be more Wrestlemanias in your future surely that's got to be exciting and who would you like to face as potential opponents ?

 

 I have huge respect how I was treated in WWE and thanks to TNA management for making the process so easy. I think at Wrestlmania overall  I won, Randy won, TNA won and WWE won.Now going into rebellion with the most buzz in the world I am honoured to be in this position and what triple h said meant alot to me what john cena said  on the Pat Mcafee show meant alot. To be mentioned by Daniel Cormer and CM punk also means alot. Plus  all the conversations backstage mean alot.  We are going to take what happened at Mania and get more people through the door. TNA one of the hottest entities in the business and we want to keep it that way.

Congratulations on your moment on Sunday .Can you talk about how you helped people watch wresting who have been watching netflix not wrestling fans to get exposed to Wrestlemania?

 

I am incredibly grateful to the army of people who put me in this position .My amazing colleagues in TNA I am nothing without management, crew and the fans. I am fortunate to do those things but thats down to the people who helped put me in thai position. Check now and my WWE t-shrit  is sold old  and to see i'm in the top selling figures on WWE shop, it’s surreal When I was in the Roysl Rumble I said it was like putting a VR Headset on. Wrestlemania was like a surge of energy.  Regardless what people think about it I know what i'm doing as champion. My job is to get as many eyeballs on TNA as possible. The world is finding out person by person how amzing TNA wrestling is. If you've never seen TNA or havent seen it for a while this is the best time for you because you  have no idea who will turn up. This partnership is strong on another level. Pro wrestling is at its best when anything can happen and you will see that Sunday Night.

It was amazing to see you at Wrestlemania .How did the week leading up to show go,did you hae practise time for the entrances and the match .Also how did you get into the arena?

 

This was a military operation. Its  rare to get something over the fans and I wasnt even in the odds before the match.  So just amazing work from everyone in my team. I remember there was no run through of entrances cause people. I knew it would work, with slick production it looks like it took rehearsal time to prepare but it was just get ready and go. The entrance was great,the visuals and  the way the camera follows me. Plus the RKO where randy comes into shot we created a moment that was what was best at that show. I had appearances at WWE world so it wasnt usual to be there. i had a car with  tinted windows,a hoodie,a Covid mask. Also the golf carts, they are fast so it was boom straight to the secret room. No one saw anything.It was a military operation.

You have many things happening at the moment you are TNA Champ and you have made appearances at the Royal Rumble ,Wrestlemania and NXT.Also you are doing interviews for TNA. Is this getting to much for you or can you handle it? Also you have Ethan Page to Worry about

 

Couple of things, is it easy no but its what we ask for so you have to embrace it. You can either go wah wah wah or think to myself I need to execute this to the best of my ability. People would crawl over broken  glass for this and if you can't handle it you shouldn't be in the spot and i'm doing it with a smile on my face.

Two part question what sets TNA apart from others and can youtell us about your opponents in this title match Sunday?

The Stakes are really high here, these two are my arch rivals so to take them on at the same time will not be easy. I still have myRotator issues which wasn't great when taking a RKO but we will see how i am. I will be there Sunday, anything can happen when it's at its very best.

To me if you look at what modern wrestling is TNA has really been part of showing you what this is not only looking at its past. It's like a variety show. It excels at everything. I will be interested to  see what Steve Macklin does with his championship. We needed our version of intercontinental Championship.No matter wrestling fan or not come to a show and you will be entertained.

Been quite 18 months for you since Turning Point, speaking for uk fans What did you think of the strong UK and Ireland contingent at Mania?

 

Unless you're in the UK you have no idea how quality the UK talent is. It's just hard getting a Visa. The standard of independent UK shows. Shoutout to Dareese . I have a feeling if we open the door for him, we need to give this guy a shot here.

Joe we remember you from 2014 with Rusev Lana NXT to your NXT debut last year ,to the rumble to Roman at the rumble and TNA champion. It feels like it's just starting here. What is  your dream match? Could it be in NXT Oba Feme and any plans to have another title?

Trick and Oba were talking in NXT so I put myself in that. My shoulder is growing, having to carry around that heavy title. The other shoulder feels left out. The NXT title would look great here .It’s not official but we will see what happens, anything can happen at anytime. The match I am shooting for is John Cena,The Rock is why i got into the business. I actually called out The Rock on What Culture in 2017. Theres also Chris Jericho. I've done some of them like Kurt Angle, Roman and Randy and some in the TNA locker room I have shared the ring with . One I want to have again and that’s Leon Slater . I think he will be the next AJ Styles and can win this belt. I would like to face him at least a couple of times . Also Id like to face KC Navaro

How do you always manage to make moments .Stay relevant in your mind and keep going?

 

I think that as you progress through wrestling the more pressure more praise more criticism. It’s hard to feel ok with that but you just move forward with best intentions and do the best you can even if its a bad situation, it's the best you can do. Like me at Mania what can I do to get most eyes on the product and get most eyes on TNA because of it . Tackle it day by day and always try your best and you can always move forward.

Congrats first TNA to be in  rumble and mania what do you bring to this match watching two triple threat matches at mania?

 

There is a story going into this match. it’s strong with me and Frankie have unresolved for a year and same with me and Ethan. Also with Frankie and Ethan as well . Shows when Ethan is coming over how valuable the TNA title is . My job was to be at WM ,it was fun. I was disappointed i lost but personally I have to win this Sunday that's my goal

Joe im curious how do you cope with negativity ?

 

Look if John Cena said I did a good job then I did a good job and if the crowd split then go with the metrics. You can’t buy a t-shirt on wwe .com with my name on it. Also think about the amount of videos of me and Randy so that was a good moment. We will see how it translates at Rebellion . Do not miss this event. I warn you exciting things will happen on this PPV.

Congrats on the weekend. We like crossover wrestling and would like to see a great feud with the TNA champion and a past TNA Champion. What would you say to Joe Hendry vs AJ Styles past and present. 

 

Look at the past , Saying something with Joe Hendry can’t happen nothing is off the table .People want to fight the TNA champion. Me and AJ were talking about how prominent having the TNA title was. I hope people get to see the footage. You know what you need to do just say my name.

 

 

TNA used to be on Wrestling Channel and Challenge TV .In the next 2-3 years What would you like TNA to do?

 

Critical point for TNA to grow to another level. Over the last five years thousands a night is normal for us now . When we are in the UBS arena it would be huge when we sell it out. Flood gates will open and all the momentum leading up to it.

Doing well in TNA .What would like to see for TNA when it comes to bringing up new talent. Also we could do with the wrestlers learning about getting into movies,and managing their money.

 

Leon is an interesting example. He is an  unbelievable talent and he has a  mature head on his shoulders si im not worried about him, He has lots in the locker room including me looking out for him,. Eric young developed my moveset to get me more over in matches. Sami Callaghan did stomp stomp clap. Moose taught me how to wrestle PPV matches.. There are so many people in the TNA locker room that want to help. Management doing phenomenal job, they have got great ideas how to further the company and wrestling as a whole. Its a great time to be in the industry and great time to be a fan.

It was a huge responsibility and so proud and fortunate. to be here.Im tryingto translate as much business for TNA as i can . I ,TNA and WWE made choices to do this and its up to me to repay TNA and turn it into business

I can not separate the two. i am so proud stepping out as champion at Mania when i won the title I had my parents there. I cannot separate the two . I was just proud walking out at wrestlemania as the TNA Champ.

 Ive never thought about it, that's insane.

 

What would you say to all the inspiring wrestlers what would your advice be to british wrestlers?

​

If you're young embrace your other interests that make you unique so for example I have my music. I also have a blackbelt in Judo  and have a few amatuer wrestling championships and life experience. At some point you will need singular focus. Until then learn how to make money outside of wrestling, develop a skill to get good money and a good wage so you have more options in wrestling. Develop a high value skill.

How likely  are we to get a combined WWE & TNA PLE?

Impossible to say all I can say is  I would love to see it. I think they would love an NXT and TNA clash. I think it would be very exciting and it’s an era when anything could happen.
