Remember Monday

Interview

The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 will see Remember Monday, comprising of Charlotte, Holly
and Lauren, representing for the United Kingdom and performing their single ‘What The Hell Just
Happened?’ in a bid to win the coveted Eurovision 2025 trophy. The trio of best friends are
renowned for going viral on social media with their epic harmonies. Audiences will be treated to
the band’s highly anticipated staging, as overseen by creative director, Ace Bowerman. Ace has
helped shape the live stage performances of some of the world’s most influential artists including
Dua Lipa, Sabrina Carpenter, Ed Sheeran and Black Pink to name a few.

The Eurovision stage will be the biggest gig of the band’s career to date. Since their
announcement as the UK Eurovision act back in March Remember Monday have taken to their
jobs as UK Eurovision ambassadors with aplomb. In a bid to garner global support and legions of
new fans across Europe and beyond ahead of the contest, the band have thrown themselves in to
a whirlwind European press tour, performed live at pre-parties for Eurovision superfans, met
some of their fellow competitors, sang on an Icelandic trawler and performed at the Swiss
embassy - unique moments that can only happen in Eurovision world! Hear from them about how
they are feeling ahead of taking to the global stage in the hopes of becoming Eurovision winners:

It's the Eurovision Grand Final on Saturday, can you possibly distil the feeling of performing in
front of c. 160million people across the world?

Lauren: We can’t even put it into words!

Charlotte: It’s so hard because you can’t visualise that at all, so it’s not even worth thinking about
that many people... but just knowing that people are watching the three of us living our dream is
everything!
Holly: I don’t think our brains have computed that that is the amount of people watching. For us
it’s not necessarily the size of the audience, it’s that we so badly want to do a good job and that’s
where our nerves are coming from, we want to be able to watch it back and be SO proud!

The band’s name is Remember Monday, can you describe your most memorable Monday since
this Eurovision journey has begun?

*girls check diaries!*
Lauren: We did a press junket and our first acoustic performance of ‘What The Hell Just
Happened?’ to a room full of people at Theatre Royal Drury Lane on a Monday – that was very
cool. That was the first time we’d sung the song live (acoustically), in front of an audience – other
than our Mums!

You are big Taylor Swift fans, what ERA are Remember Monday in right now?

Holly: I think we are in Taylor’s Red era right now.
Charlotte: What about our Reputation era?!
Holly: I don’t think we’ve quite hit the Reputation era just yet haha!
Lauren: We can be in our Fearless era if we want to be....I think it’s a wonderful starting point. The
Fearless era platformed Taylor onto bigger and better things.
All: Yes, that’s what we’ll go with – Remember Monday’s x Taylor Swift’s Fearless Era.

Have you been to Basel or Switzerland before? Any memories?

Lauren: Yes, we were in Switzerland to film our Eurovision Postcard, in Zermatt, which was SO
beautiful. And while we were there ticked something HUGE off our bucket list! It was an
experience we will never forget and we can’t wait to get back to Switzerland for Eurovision.
Charlotte: I mean we saw more of Switzerland than Zermatt, but kind of accidentally by getting
on the wrong train....
Holly: Oh and also by standing on a very tall mountain so we got quite the bird's eye view.

What is your favourite song to cover as a band EVER?

Lauren: Ooh that’s fun, we do love Unwritten by Natasha Bedingfield.
Charlotte: I love doing Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison.
Holly: I love all the chorus-y, lyric things we do – like the snippets on TikTok.
Lauren: We also LOVE The Giver by Chappell Roan at the moment.

What is your first memory of Eurovision? And how do you usually celebrate?

Charlotte: So I am a huge Eurovision fan, I have been for as long as I can remember – it's kind of
infamous as a Charlotte thing now. We always host Eurovision parties – everyone picks a country,
they bring food and drink from that country, we go all out! My favourite Eurovision artist has to
be Alexander Rybak who represented Norway in the 2009 and won with Fairytale. I just loved it!
Holly: Scooch – always for me. Their song Flying The Flag (For You) from 2007 sticks in my head.
My parents were in the aviation industry so that one definitely was a family favourite!
Lauren: Ooh I can’t remember my first Eurovision memory, but one of my favourites has to be the
fabulous Conchita Wurst who won in 2014 with "Rise Like a Phoenix". Just incredible.

You’ve met lots of your fellow contestants so far already, have they given you any words of
wisdom / tips?

Holly: Miriana Conte from Malta is a babe! She used to be in a girlband so we have a lil connection
with her! We’re all planning a girls holiday to Malta when Eurovision is over, we love her!
Charlotte: Claude from The Netherlands is the sweetest – he is a very calming presence and was
so kind to us just before the Amsterdam Pre Party we all chilled in the dressing room just chatting
about how crazy the experience has been!
Lauren: Sissal from Denmark is also amazing, we had so much fun with her in Copenhagen. We
are just loving all the girlies in the competition this year, there’s a real feeling of girl power.

Describe Eurovision in a word or phrase to someone who has never heard of it before?

Charlotte: Absolutely crazy
Lauren: Whirlwind of creativity and chaos
Holly: Iconic vibes only

Your song is called ‘What The Hell Just Happened?’ can you tell us the inspiration... Have you
ever been in a situation where you’ve thought ‘what the hell just happened?’...anything you can
share?!

Holly: Oh there are many nights out that we can’t share, where we did wake up thinking ‘what the
hell just happened!?’, we’ve got lots of matching tattoos and there was a night out where
Charlotte actually did lose a shoe...if anyone finds a boot in Reading town centre then you know
where to bring it! The lyrics of the song really are inspired by our own friendship.
Charlotte: Holly’s hen do – Lauren and I were bridesmaids – was a whole weekend of ‘what the
hell just happened...’
Lauren: Too many to repeat..!

And finally, can you give us any teasers about what to expect during the Final this Saturday?

Lauren: Drama and theatrics
Holly: Pink and girly
Charlotte: We obviously want it to be a surprise on the night, but what we can say is that we are
leaning into our musical theatre backgrounds that is for sure and we just hope that audiences
love the staging and design as much as we do.
Holly: Oh and our outfits are pretty cute too.....
